Mark LaSpina, DO
Dr. LaSpina is board certified by the American Board of Urology. Originally from the Merrimack Valley, he graduated from Tufts University and received his medical degree from the University of New England College of Medicine (UNECOM) in Biddeford, ME.
He completed his internship in general surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and his urology residency at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY.
Dr. LaSpina is one of only a few who received the Award for Clinical Excellence and Professionalism given by the North Shore Medical Centers each of the last three years (2012-2014). Click here for 2014 news story.
Dr. LaSpina believes in communicating with patients and family effectively. By being compassionate and attentive to quality of life concerns, he develops strong bonds with his patients. There is nothing more rewarding than helping patients through the anxiety-provoking moments in their lives.
Dr. LaSpina is one of the first physicians in the region to introduce minimally invasive laser procedures to treat BPH in the office. This technique has tremendous advantages such as no general anesthesia and quicker recovery.
He also is proficient in performing "nephrostomy tubeless" PCNL for large kidney stones.
